So we have this major snow storm steaming our way. We're kinda in the waps, well water etc... questionable reticulation.... The little 1850w gen I have has done well but really we really need the well pump and stuff and it's just too small for anything more than a fridge and few lights. My old 5500w gen was left in CA (turns to shed tear).

So in abject fear of this storm, I finally replaced it with a 7500/9000 gen. No more extension leads everywhere - I ran a 240V line in from the gen to a 6 circuit transfer switch. There is a socket tucked away in the garage out of sight that the gen plugs into. Elec start - throw the switches and all the essentials and then some are covered.
