Today is the anniversary of Édouard Manet (23 January 1832 – 30 April 1883), an outstanding French artist –you can find bellow his two famous paintings Bar at the Folies-Bergère and Lola de Valence. I remember them from childhood. I was lucky to have a big encyclopedia of arts where I first discovered these and many other masterpieces.
