I'm currently working on an important computer project that I will not go into detail about. However it requires a lot of computing power. To put things in perspective (in terms of investments) Here's Asic white: The fastest computer as of the year 2000 operating at 7.22 TFLOPS alongside mine which is running at 10 TFLOPS (1.4 times the performance). 16 Years later computers grow smaller more powerful as a whole. We cannot forget they they will solve more and more problems.

And yes cooling is still an issue. That's why my computer is out of case, on a how to cool down laptop chill mat, and surrounded by fans.
