I believe everyone should take the 9 minutes out of your day to give this song a listen. This song, by Macklemore, offers some insight on white privilege in America and its effects, especially on the black community. I am not normally a fan of Macklemore's music, but this song really struck me as powerful and providing a good message. Macklemore show he is aware of his privilege and knows that he can use it for good, which I believe is what he is trying to do in this song. Th...e commentaries and quotes he uses are also great and offer a broader perspective on issues, especially police brutality in America. There is much more I could say about this song, but I just invite you to listen yourself and hopefully you can learn something from it, if you are white.
