Why am I so over weight?! I have the answer and I've been meaning to put this out for some time. During my master degree studies I had to select a paper to write on and I chose the Women's Progressive Movement which I never thought would lead to answering my nutrition struggles today. Here are some articles I read which clearly indicate quite a few facts about your health and answer why we are all losing the war in obesity! red formal dresses

Here's the facts:

1. Processed foods increased from early 1900's to current date. WWII pushed men to fight and women out of the homes and into the factories leaving them less time to cook and do chores at home.
Did you know: Baby formula was created during this time so anyone can feed the babies while the women worked in the factories?! Humans ... the only species who made a substitute for infant nutrition.
2. The obesity rate of American's have increased over the decades.
Did you know: supermarkets in the 40's were small convenient stores with fresh ingredients filled with canned goods and fresh vegetables and fruits. The true organic lifestyle. Wow ... we have quite the glorified supermarkets today.
3. High fructose corn syrup is awful for you!
4. Obesity has climbed 25% in 25 years!
Did you know: the car industry and road system built in the 1950's made it very convenient for people to do a lot less working in the fields and walking to more commuting, more polution, and more processed foods?
5. The poorer the community the higher the obesity rate is
6. Health concerns for obesity:
type 2 diabetes
heart disease
high blood pressure
nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (excess fat and inflammation in the liver of people who drink little or no alcohol)
osteoarthritis (a health problem causing pain, swelling, and stiffness in one or more joints)
some types of cancer: breast, colon, endometrial (related to the uterine lining), and kidney
stroke
7. Eating fruits and vegetables are healthy for you! They're convenient, less calories, high in fiber, packed with antioxidants, reduce disease, packed with vitamins and minerals, is a quick snack and is nutritious!
8. You need 6 1/2 cups of fruits and vegetables in your diet daily!
9. The nutritional value of our fruits and vegetables are dwindling over the years by over 60%. Broccoli produced in 1950 had 130 mg of calcium. Today, that number is only 48 mg.
10. Bridge the gap with organic fruits and vegetables. Stay away from chemicals which are killing you and depleting the nutrients from your body. Juice Plus+ has been around since 1970. It's designed to help get those nutrients in to your body. http://tl27579.juiceplus.com
